Corolla Public Library

History

The Corolla area was served by a bookmobile for many years, but in 1997, the decision was made to retire the bookmobile. To ensure library service to Corolla residents, the County set aside 1200 sq. ft. of space in the Corolla Satellite Government Building to serve as a library. One half of that space served as a meeting room. Ten years later, the County converted an additional 1,359 sq. ft. of space in the Satellite Building to library space bringing the Corolla Public Library up to the current total of 2,609 sq. ft. This additional space allowed the library to create a dedicated children’s area, a large meeting room, a room for Friends of the Library book sales, two small conference rooms and a kitchen area.
