July 17 - July 21
Come experience the thrill of the haul-up as you walk in the boots of watermen with the North Carolina Aquarium! Venture out to catch shrimp and crabs, as you realize what it takes to harvest seafood and bring it to your table. Campers will fish from a local pier or two, identify local catch, and tour a fish packing house. Discover more about sea turtles and watermen efforts to save these animals from the perils of their nets. Do you think that you could clean fish, mend nets, recycle oyster shells, and prepare a daily catch? From catching to conservation, see a waterman’s side of seafood!
Closed toe shoes and a bag lunch are required.
Campers should also bring sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, swimsuit (on beach day), towel, water shoes, change of clothes/extra shoes, rain coat, and a backpack to store everything in.
9:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday
$240 per Camper
