Service in Science: Jennette’s Pier teams up with the N.C. Coastal Federation for Summer Camp

Are you looking for a way to earn community service hours while having fun and learning about the coast? The N.C. Coastal Federation staff will join forces with the pier to take participants out into a variety of habitats and restoration projects right here in the community. You will get the chance to clean-up the marsh while learning to Stand-up Paddle Board, Kayak the sound to collect water samples and many more fun hands-on activities. You’ll get your feet wet and your hands dirty as you lend a hand on a variety of projects from marsh grass plantings and oyster restoration to biological species monitoring. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain some great hands-on environmental work experience, log some community service hours and have fun while you’re at it!
Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ages: Rising 8th through 10th grade, Ages 12 to 15
Cost for week: $200 per camper
